Image-Based Room Visualization & Live AR Assisted Sales
Reversed the traditional home decor buying journey from static product browsing into an interactive visual commerce experience, allowing customers to upload their bedroom photos and receive live AR video styling consultations.
Delivered browser-based image room visualization and subsequent live AR video styling consultation pipeline.
Home textile customers struggled to visualize how curtains, bedsheets, and linens would look in their specific bedrooms, leading to high cart abandonment and return rates. Native AR apps faced an 85%+ drop-off at the app store download step.
Reversed the buying paradigm: customers upload a photo of their bed or room, computer vision algorithms detect angles and ambient lighting, and candidate textile patterns are rendered contextually with realistic drape shadows. Extended the platform into a live WebRTC AR video call where showroom stylists project swatches onto the customer’s room in real time.
Built 100% browser-based WebGL perspective warping and multiply-blend shadow filtering to retain existing bedding folds under new pattern overlays. Integrated WebRTC video calling with live AR overlay synchronization for remote store sales consultations.
Rendering flat 2D textile patterns onto rumpled 3D bed fabrics realistically in-browser without full 3D meshes; synchronizing real-time AR canvas elements over fluctuating mobile WebRTC video connections.
Bridged the white-glove showroom experience to mobile web; eliminated app-download drop-off; significantly reduced color/fit return rates; created a high-conversion visual sales journey.
End-to-end technical leadership: domain modeling, system architecture, database design, hands-on production code, and zero-defect deployment.

“For home décor and textile products, the biggest barrier is visualizing the product in the customer’s space. By introducing web visualization first and extending it into live AR video calling, Shubham helped us recreate the in-store buying experience online.”
